Intro to My Debut Novel

YA Dystopian, approx. 96,000 words

The novel that inspires me every day! I wrote it with all the tropes I love - political intrigue, love triangle, “coming-of-rage” premise - along with some elements I longed to see in YA epics - steampunk-inspired world, a best friend who’s believable as a love interest, and true feminine rage.

Now, for the real summary:

Cyborgs are rampaging across the country, and the national vigilante group known as the Nomads are assembling a team of volunteers to stop them. Meanwhile, Adelina “Ada” Castille, seventeen-year-old engineering student surviving the lower class slums as a black market weapons supplier for pirates, receives a mysterious meeting invitation promising the one thing she wants most - a chance to rise through the societal classes. At the meeting, Ada learns that the secretive Nomad organization suspects the government of mind-controlling the cyborgs to force citizens into fear-induced, unrefuted submission. Motivated by the societal injustice she’s faced and the encouragement of the suave Nomad leader, Ada volunteers - along with three other mysterious renegades - to infiltrate the nation’s capital, acquire proof of tyranny, and stop the cyborgs from destroying her home.
